Wood Tile in Cape Town — main view
3 photosWood · Charcoal

A hillside home on the Cape peninsula, re-roofed in our Wood profile to replace a failing timber shingle roof. The linear embossing keeps the warm, natural look the owners wanted without the maintenance a real timber roof needs.

Cape weather is the hard part: south-easterly wind in summer, driving winter rain off the Atlantic. Panels were laid on a 22-degree pitch with a 100 mm overlap and full eave flashing, and the whole roof was walked and screwed off in six working days.

The charcoal finish sits well against the fynbos and the timber cladding, and after two winters on the coast there is no visible fade or granule loss at the weather edge.
