Bond Tile in Dar es Salaam
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania · Charcoal · 410 m²
A two-storey house a few kilometres off the coast, where the roof takes both the sea air and the long rains. Bond in Charcoal covers 410 m² in one plane, and the deep profile gives it the shadow line the owners wanted from the street.
Salt and humidity do the damage here, not heat. All fixings went in as stainless, and every cut at the hips and the ridge was primed and touched up before the capping went on.
The whole order shipped as one container: tiles, ridge caps, barge boards, valley flashing and screws, so the installer was never waiting on a second delivery.
